A non–uniform bound for translated Poisson approximation
Let X1, . . . , Xn be independent, integer valued random variables, with p th moments, p > 2, and let W denote their sum. We prove bounds analogous to the classical non-uniform estimates of the error in the central limit theorem, but now, for approximation of L(W ) by a translated Poisson distribution. The advantage is that the error bounds, which are often of order no worse than in the classic...
متن کاملScalable VHDL Architectures for Non-uniform Sampling Driver Designs
Non-uniform sampling promises increased equivalent sampling rates with reduced overall hardware costs. Each device applying non-uniform sampling must use special circuits and architectures to achieve a correct and predictable sampling scheme with respect to time instant placement. The architecture of an ASIC implementation for non-uniform sampling varies with the application. Different boundary...
متن کاملA Non-uniform Bound on Geometric Approximation to the Yule Distribution
The aim of this paper, we use Stein’s method and the w-function associated with the Yule random variable to obtain a non-uniform bound for the point metric of the Yule and geometric distributions. Three numerical examples are provided to illustrate the obtained result. AMS Subject Classification: 62E17, 60F05
متن کاملNon-uniform sampling point selection in orthogonal frequency division multiplexing receiver with fractional sampling
To achieve diversity with a single antenna, a fractional sampling (FS) scheme in OFDM has been proposed. FS achieves path diversity with a higher sampling rate and multiple demodulation branches. In the previous literatures for FS, the sampling interval is fixed even though the initial phase selection of the sampling has been investigated. The fixed sampling interval limits the diversity gain t...
متن کاملNon-uniform Spatial Sampling
We investigate in this paper the non-uniform sampling of EEG dipolar potentials and its impact on source analysis. We suppose some a priori knowledge on the approximate location of the dipole. We show that, in a noise-free situation, the electrode spacing needs to be around 3cm in the region of the dipole only, whereas it can drop to 8cm in remote regions.
